The Sun Smart Campaign is being implemented across the regions targeting high risk groups. This includes
- Promoting the new Sun Smart Toolkit and Accreditation among primary and secondary schools has really enhanced the support schools have for developing as a Sun Smart school with a wealth of resources to support them in achieving accreditation.
- The Healthy Campus pilot continues in University of Limerick with Munster Technological University hoping to develop Sun Smart practices as part of their Healthy campus also.
- One of the main areas of focus has been outdoor workers – Interventions with Farmers using the new resources has been well received, with the opportunity to highlight during Men’s Health Week.
- Building capacity of Beach Lifeguards as they prepare for the summer season has provided valuable opportunity to increase knowledge about how to protect skin in the sun. Collaborating with our partners in sport recreation and tourism has delivered the sun smart campaign to those who are outdoors this summer sharing supports and resources to be Sun Smart
