Breakthrough Cancer Research has opened a unique and powerful new exhibition in Dublin: Cancer Revolution: Science, Innovation and Hope

Running until 31 October 2025 in Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre, the free exhibition tells the story of cancer in a way never seen before in Ireland. It brings together history, science, and lived experiences to show how far we’ve come in understanding and treating cancer – and what the future holds.

Who should attend?
The exhibition is designed for everyone aged 8 and up – families, schools, healthcare professionals, scientists, policymakers, and anyone with a personal or professional interest in cancer. Whether you are curious about the biology of cancer, passionate about prevention and early detection, or interested in the social impact of the disease, you will find something to inspire you.

Why attend?
Visitors can explore a rich mix of:

  • Historic artefacts, including a fossil showing cancer in a dinosaur and Francis Rynd’s world-first hypodermic needle, invented in Dublin.
  • Groundbreaking Irish research, such as the Dublin Method of radiotherapy, Precision Oncology Ireland’s digital cancer modelling, the CLuB liquid biopsy project, and AllCaN Oesophageal.
  • Personal stories, from knitted dolls given to a child during treatment to Camino walking poles carried after diagnosis, showing the human resilience behind the science.
  • Striking interactive displays, including a giant 3D tumour model, digital hands-on exhibits, and myth-busting quizzes.

This is more than an exhibition – it’s an opportunity to spark important conversations in workplaces, communities, and classrooms. By encouraging your colleagues and networks to attend, you are helping to:

  • Raise awareness of the importance of prevention, early detection, and research.
  • Provide access to an educational, engaging, and free resource.
  • Inspire the next generation of STEM students and healthcare professionals.
  • Support a national moment of reflection and hope in the face of cancer.
