The NCCP ‘Reducing Cancer Risk’ e-learning programme is available on HSEland.
The e-learning programme for health and social care professionals aims to develop knowledge and understanding of modifiable cancer risk reduction factors. The programme consists of 11 short modules on the things we can change to reduce our cancer risk. The 11 modules available on HSELand cover the topics – smoking tobacco, body weight, vaccinations, alcohol, skin protection, radon, cancer screening, eating for health, breastfeeding, oral contraceptive pill& HRT, physical activity and workplace carcinogens.
Each module includes:
– how the modifiable risk factor affects cancer risk.
– which cancers are related to the risk factor.
– cancer risk reduction advice.
– signposts to resources and further trusted sources of information, for both you and the people you support
Modules take between 10 – 15 minutes to complete. Learners can dip in and out of the programme at any time and pick which modules they want to complete.
If you complete the 11 modules you can then download a CPD certificate.
